Tucked away in a mini shopping mall in Johnstown, Colorado, you will find a quaint little architectural salvage store, Traegan Architectural Salvage. This store has a wealth of unique treasures.  While they have some pieces that are ready to be purchased as they bring them into the store, but they also make custom pieces.

This custom door is made from salvage lumber and ceiling tens. They actually sell ceiling tins by the foot and the tins have a really lovely patina.

Another custom item that they had built for their shop was an industrial style island.  This island even comes with an old vise attached to it. This island would be perfect for a huge kitchen.

One of my favorite parts though, was the collection of old lumber.  I love the old wood, and love all of the random colors and the beautiful weathering.

This is the project we made with our own red board.

Even if you don’t live on the eastern slope of the Colorado Rockies, you could go visit your own architectural shop.  What a rich history you will find behind their door!!
